In today’s complex digital world, the volumes of both structured and unstructured electronic data being shared between individuals and organizations continues to rise sharply as data theft and intrusion increases daily as Information transmission through internet may include sensitive personal data which may be intercepted. This research work is aimed at developing an information sharing software using RS cryptographic algorithm for data security and secure communication. The proposed system adopt structured system analysis and design methodology (SSADM), and implement using object oriented programming language PHP5 & MySQL data base for data storage and html 5 and css3 for the user interface.
Therefore, high level of security has been provided using the proposed RS cryptographic technique which will generate encrypted key to every to every message sent to the recipient. The results shows that the proposed technique provides high information security and will enhance secure communication between the university of port Harcourt senate towards delivery of information to deferent units and department within the institution, However, if adequate data exchange mechanisms are in place, information theft could be at minimal. This research work could be beneficial the institution at large if adopted
